Since 1978 we have bred for quality, type and substance. Our dogs are healthy and of good temperaments.

Our own well-established blood lines have given us the position as one of the leading Bull Terrier kennels in Denmark, and we have also obtained top results outside of Denmark.

Several times we have obtained 'The most winning BT in Denmark' or 'Best In Opposite Sex' in the Danish Terrier Clubs annual competition. To mention some of the latest:  Best BT dog in 1994,  Bull terrier of the year 1995, Bull Terrier number 3 1996, Bull Terrier number 2 & 3 1997, Bull terrier of the year 1998, Best BT dog in Denmark 1999 & 2.nd most winning Bull Terrier in Denmark 1999 plus 2.nd most winning Bull Terrier Bitch in whole Germany 1999.

Despite we have had relatively few litters (approx. 1 pr. year), we have bred/owned 22 Danish, 3 Swedish, 1 Russian, 2 German, 2 Luxembourg and 2 International champions - more to come.

We have during the years won numerous breeding classes and honor prizes under world known breeder judges.

To mention some:

  • Bärbel von Kralik (kennel Little Kings, Germany)

  • Elisabeth Küpper-Trahn*(kennel Imperator, Germany)

  • Josef Schneider (kennel Zanadu, Austria)

  • Espen Thygesen* (kennel Quest, Norway)

  • Juliet Shaw (kennel Badlesmere, GB)

  • Carol Larkin (kennel Booksale, GB/South Africa)

  • David Harris (kennel Brummagem, USA)

  • Eric Stanley (kennel Aricon, GB)

  • Deidre Bateman, (kennel Eirdred) England

  • David Merriam, USA

  • Danny and Linda McGregor (kennel Merlindan) England

  • Mark Philips (kennel Bullyon) England  6th of September 2003

As many before us we started up with the breed by buying a pet in 1978 - a white bitch : Panzarkrafts Desideria. Despite her narrow head and to much terrier-type, she had an excellent confirmation and was very well bred (grand-daughter to AMCH Abraxas Achilles and CH Jobrulu Philadelphus)  We show this bitch but not with overwhelming results.  We decided to take a litter on this bitch and mated her with a Swedish import Panzarkraft Nougat. This  guy was a solid red son by INTCH Cochpheasant of Lenster (by GBCH Holyfir Dog In A Doublet) He was a medium size bull type dog and fits very well in type to Desideria. Three puppies was the result two girls and one dog all red and white.

Here we got our first champion the dog DKCH Brave Breslau Warrior, but he was unfortunately never used in the breeding. We kept one of the bitches Beautiful Breslau Star. She ended up to be a heavyweight of very good confirmation and with for that time quite a nice and powerful head.  'Dolly' as we called her became a VERY good  brood bitch and have produced a nice rows of  champions for our kennel. With INTCH Curraneye Now Angus (by GBCH Rococo Ringleader of Normandy) -  she gave us the white dog and top winning  BT in Denmark DKCH Breslau's Devil In The Night- a medium size dog built on beautiful lines and a excellent showman.

The brindle and white dog DKCH Breslau's Devil's Disciple - a more heavy type, the red and white bitch - the elegant red and white top winning bitch in Denmark DKCH Breslau's Desert Spirit with the best movements, I have ever seen in a BT ring and finally the brindle and white bitch DKCH Breslau's Daughter Of Darkness - also a very good  bitch.

All 4 champions have been used in the breed most the two girls, which again had produced a number of champions. Combined with INTCH Ghabar Guardian Angel (by GBCH Ghabar The Admiral) Dolly gave us a litter of three- out of which two became champions - the white  bitch DKCH Breslau's Army Girl and the brindle and white  bitch Breslau's Arrowhead. Both bitches was used in the breed with success. Arrowhead produced with DKCH Firebrand Kim (Breslau's Talk Of The Town -half sister/halfbrothermating to GBCH Ghabar The Admiral) a litter of three out of which two became champion: The brindle and white dog DKCH Breslau's Zambezi Big Shot and the white bitch DKCH Breslau's Zero In On Me.

Zambezi sired a number of good  litters resulting in several champions. Zero In On Me mated with DKCH Breslau's Uncle Jack produced a very good dog of terrier type with a wonderful head DKCH Breslau's Knight Rider later sold to Sweden, where he also became SUCH. Zeroes second and last litter were by INTCH Einstein The Joker - a super headed  brindle and white dog living in Germany. Here another champion popped up. The super headed elegant red and white terrier type bitch DKCH, German Champion, Luxembourg champion Breslau's Oriental Princess.

Another English import the white bitch Swell Belle of Eirdreds (by GBCH Ghabar the Admiral ex Jazzy Lady (by GBCH Ghabar Crusader)  became of great value for our kennel. An elegant medium size bitch built on beautiful lines and line bred of the very best English bloodlines.

For her first litter we choose INTCH Ghabar Guardian Angel a very big  heavyweight (by GBCH Ghabar the Admiral.  We got a nice litter of big sized puppies but the sensational heads we have expected out of this combination didn't  come at all - except for one very nice big dog puppy Breslau's Talk Of The Town, which ends up to be a very big shapely dog with a very nice head but with a slightly mouth fault. This dog was  mated on my recommendation to a lovely bitch from kennel Firebrand  DKCH Firebrand Astra (by DKCH Contango Clown Prince Of Hardras) Out of this come the best BT ever bred in Denmark INTCH LUXCH DKCH Firebrand Kim. Firebrand Kim is a big nicely made BT with an outstanding head.

In my opinion Firebrand Kim is the dog which reminds most about GBCH Ghabar The Admiral type wise/size/head. A dog of this quality should have been used intensively of the leading breeders world-wide. He had so much to offer for the breed and have the very best English bloodlines: But to tell the sad truth, he was only used two times both time by me with super results. A lot of BT breeders around  have slept in the school missing the chance to use such a stud dog, but he didn't have a fashionable prefix and neither influential owners. A massive gossip campaign from jealous BT owners was going on with terrible stories about that this dog was sick of this and this and would only have one or two years back to live in.  All this to stop his stud dog carrier and they succeeded.

This dog is now 13 years old and perfectly healthy!!!!!

Fortunately the owner have frozen some portions of sperm from this dog, and I have bought one of the portions, which I will use for my smashing brindle and white bitch Breslaus American Girl by AMCH Jarrouges Jim Dandy ROM. I look forward to see the results. It doesn't matter that Firebrand Kim is 13 years now. Like Ghabar The Admiral  also Firebrand Kim was years ahead for his time, so his head and type will still be able to compete with the very best BT today.

Beautiful Breslau Star ( Dolly) combined with the Ghabar bloodlines my present brood bitch Pam v. Bressendorff Imperator goes directly back to. Pamela is very similar in type to her ancestor Beautiful Breslau Star. Same size, temperament and good confirmation but off course with more head/profile according to the standard of to day. To be honest Pamela is a 'ghost' from the future, sometimes I find it quite spooky, because she shows so many thing, which reminds me about my old and very beloved 'Dolly'.  Also showing the same wonderful temperament.

After Pamela's first litter with Aricon Eye Of the Phoenix (GBCH Kearbys Jonah OF Aricon) it seems as Pamela like Dolly will be "the goose who lays the golden eggs". Pamela next litter was with the English import CH Turkshead Saracen of Killacabar (ex GBCH Kilacabar Stand and Deliver). Here we got 6 puppies of very good quality. Among them the sensational brindle dog Breslau's Gilbert O'Sullivan, which you can find photos of here on this homepage. Also a beautiful red smut and white bitch from this litter Breslau's Gauntlet is worth to mention.

From England we imported the pure white bitch Agnells Pearly Girl by GBCH Cousin Charlie of Holyfir ex a daughter of GB Jobrulu Jacqueminot. Full of substance but not with the same good confirmation/angulations as 'Dolly',. She was also more sharp in temperament. But never than less with her we got the important new bloodlines from England. For her first litter we choose a English import staying in Sweden CH Falling Snow Of Phidgity - a white son by GBCH Superlative Jackadandy of Ormandy. He was not a very big dog but with a for that time a very good head. During to the quarantine rules between Denmark and Sweden at this time the only way to do this mating was artificial insemination. Fresh sperm cooled with ice cubes in a coffee thermo with the train from Stockholm to Ellsinore.  The result three puppies one dog and two bitches. All of them became Danish champions and one of them even International Champion (Breslau's Showboat) The dog puppy was later used on her own mother but the result was disappointing.

For her following litters we choose the sensational INTCH Polytelis Silver Convention and his son INTCH DCH SUCH Quincy Imperator (ex Curraneye bitch)  and latest her own son DKCH Breslau's Super boy. From these combinations  we got nothing particularly perhaps  because the dogs we choose didn't fit well to her bloodlines, who knows!!! But it was difficult at this time, there was not so many good stud dogs to choose among as today and more likely, we didn't have the detailed knowledge of the merits/faults of was behind the stud dogs, we choose.  But worth to mention is the dog Breslau's Marlon Brando (by Quincy Imperator)  a real heavyweight of beautiful confirmation, but with two soft ears which stopped him in getting the champion title, he really deserved. This dog was mated to the smart elegant bitch  DKCH Breslau's Desert Spirit (by CH Curraneye Now angus ex Beautiful Breslau Star) with the best movements, I have ever seen in a BT ring.

This combination results in two champions more the top winning BT in Denmark  DKCH Breslau's Black Sabbath (brindle and white bitch) plus her litter brother the white dog of Bull type DKCH Breslau's Bullington. The mating with her own son was a catastrophe resulting in a whole litter of pure pet quality (all of them with heads of the type you saw back to the thirties) learning me never more to breed that close.

What the future will brings ??? But we have plenty of ideas to bring out in life and we have never had so much good material in our kennel as to day. Lovely bitches of great type and excellent pedigrees carrying the invaluable GHABAR Blood in a very high doze. Yes I think You all understand it by now:-) We are through many years hopelessly devoted to the Ghabar lines and  it's our target to try to maintain the Ghabar bloodline in good shape after Bobs and Audrey Edmond is no more here. Not an easy task - but we are not the only ones  around. Mr. Espen Thygesen, Kennel Quest Norway and Mrs. Brigitte Krouwel, kennel Grissebasse, Nederland is going after the same target as we are and therefore there will be possibility to exchange breeding stock to secure the demanded variation in our breeding. So we hope to be able to secure that the big bully Ghabar type will still be seen in the show rings in Scandinavia and Europe.

Also our good friends in Germany, kennel Imperator is getting more and more interested in the Ghabar bloodlines :-)

Hopefully we will manage to make the best out of it. Only the future can tell  ...

Visitors to our kennel welcome on appointment.
